Walery Eugeniusz Choroszewski FIFF (grad)

Born in Wilno (Poland) in 1922.
Educated in Poland and England

Saw wartime service with the Polish Navy on the destroyer (O.R.P.) Piorun.

After the war he settled in England and worked from 1951 to 1959 for a Shipping and Forwarding Agency in the City of London.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Freight Forwarders, and was a Director, and later, a Governor of the London School of Foreign Trade.

In 1959 started own business under the name of Odra Shipping Agency in Bow Lane, City of London, incorporated as a private limited company.

In 1975 he took over Neptune Shipping Agency Ltd., incorporated in 1953 and put it under management of his son Ryszard (Richard) Choroszewski. Both companies operated independently from the same address until 1990, when they were amalgamated into Neptune Shipping Agency Ltd., put under Richard's management, and moved to Kelly Bray in Cornwall.

Although routine day to day management of the business rests with Richard since the move in 1990, Mr. Choroszewski senior continued for several years in an active role in the Company's affairs. With the passing of time, however, complete control of the business has passed into Richard's hands.

Mr. Choroszewski, since 1960'ies has taken active interest in Polish politics directed towards freeing Poland of Soviet/ Russian domination and served in three Polish Governments in Exile .  In the last one, before handing over Polish President's insignia to newly elected President Lech Wałęsa in 1990, he was the Minister of Information in the Polish Government in Exile in London. Lately he has taken up the cause of the Polish population living in Lithuania after the Second World War as a result of Ribbentrop-Mołotov, Yalta and Potsdam agreements.  The aim of this activity being introduction into Lithuania of full minority rights for  minorities, among them Poles, living in Lithuania as a result of those international agreements.
